Watch the film to listen to our Chairman George Vestey and hear the emotional stories of some of our beneficiaries
If this year is anything to go by, one thing’s for certain. The team at Suffolk Community Foundation will go to great lengths to make sure our voluntary sector is celebrated…and if it means switching things up slightly, we’ll embrace it! In times like these, it is all the more important to feel connected. This year we’ve gone virtual with the High Sheriff’s Awards and The Suffolk Medal in very special radio shows – providing a sense of community and spreading positivity in difficult times.
So, with November approaching, our team put their heads together and decided to go virtual for our Annual Review! With the wheels in motion, Tim and Laura from the comms team travelled to every corner of our beautiful county, paying socially distanced visits to Suffolk leaders, charities and beneficiaries, and gathering inspiring footage and Stories to help champion the work of our voluntary sector.
Through many late nights of editing and meticulous planning, the event started coming together. The new broadcasting suite at DanceEast became our base – where event hosts Tim Holder and Christine Webber delivered their links through the live stream.
With the launch of a brand new Hidden Needs report, that takes an in depth look at the need and deprivation in Suffolk, partnership working and Suffolk’s Surviving Winter Appeal, the Annual Review was bursting with information and new statistics about an extraordinary, challenging and yet ground-breaking year. We also shared news of the ‘Meet the Academics webinars’ launching next week.
People from all over the county tuned in from the comfort of their own homes, and shared their support on social media.
And the best part is – if you missed it you can watch the whole thing on catch up by clicking the button below.
To those of you that have contributed to the Annual Review in any way, we’d like to say how thankful and proud of you we all are. If you tuned in, we do hope you feel both informed and inspired.
Go Team Suffolk!
