The Port Community Fund was established in 2008 by several companies associated with the Port of Felixstowe, as a way of joining forces and combining their efforts to make a bigger impact in supporting their local community.
The current Port Community Fund members are; Pentalver, Maritime Transport, MCP, Grange Shipping, Freightliner, Coscon, Harwich Haven Authority, Trinity College and the Port of Felixstowe.
For its members, the fund offers the opportunity to increase the effectiveness of their charitable giving, and has established a unique mechanism for companies working in an industry to give back to their local community in Suffolk and has been able to support some particularly concentrated areas of need.
These are some groups that have been funded by The Port Community Fund’s grants panel:
- Home-Start in Suffolk
- Oasis English Language School
- Phoenix Project
- Suffolk Cruse Bereavement Care
- Age UK Suffolk
- Survivors in Transition (SiT)
