Suffolk Infrastructure Fund

Suffolk is rapidly changing with various infrastructure projects under development. This brings new business opportunities into the area for companies working to deliver projects including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), such as Sizewell C.

Suffolk Community Foundation administers the Sizewell C Community Fund, a fund of over £2m per year to support local charities to mitigate the impact of the construction on people living locally. This means we are in a unique position with a deep understanding and knowledge of local communities and projects operating in East Suffolk.

SAX Community Fridge

Sax Community Fridge received £12,119 from the Sizewell C Community Fund to continue running regular sessions which strengthen community ties and cut food waste.

We are proud to be the inaugural donor to the Suffolk Infrastructure Fund, helping to lay the foundations for further investment from businesses across the region. Harrison Leisure’s initial donation of £25,000 marks an important first step in developing the Fund, which will provide much-needed support to charities throughout Suffolk.

We chose to support the Suffolk Infrastructure Fund because it offers a valuable platform to connect with a wide range of charities across the county that we may not otherwise have encountered.

More details about the fund:

  • Suffolk Infrastructure Fund is a giving circle where companies are make either a one-off or annual donation at a value of their choosing (minimum £5k per year) and all donations are pooled.
  • Applications will be collated, due diligence undertaken on those applying for funding and then funding requests are presented to a grant making panel.
  • Each participating company will be allocated one seat on the panel, creating an opportunity for staff to be involved in the decision making.
  • We will publicise the groups that have been awarded funds as well as the companies involved.
  • At the end of each year, we will share a report on the difference this funding has made and we will also provide opportunities for donors to visit various projects.
  • The fund will complement the already established Sizewell C Community Fund and the Sizewell C Social Benefits Forum where many community projects have been brought into fruition.

The Sizewell C Community Fund is about working together to support the people and places closest to the project. By partnering with Suffolk Community Foundation, we’re ensuring local knowledge and trusted expertise help turn funding into real, lasting benefits for communities in East Suffolk.
