Grants to purchase daily living equipment for people with disabilities. Applications accepted are to be completed by the beneficiary’s health professional.
Grants of up to £1,000 are available to purchase daily living equipment for people with a disability.
The aim of the Suffolk Disability Care Fund is to improve the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities living in Suffolk by helping to provide daily-living equipment recommended by the beneficiary’s Health Professional. The fund will only consider equipment which is not supplied by the NHS, Suffolk County Council or other statutory providers.
Examples of equipment that would be considered for funding or part-funding include:
- Specialised chairs
- Car seats
- Specialised buggies
- Specialised trikes
Examples of what will not be funded include:
- PCs and laptops, however applications for specific software will be considered
- Home adaptations
Who can apply?
The Suffolk Disability Care Fund welcomes applications from Health Professionals and/or voluntary organisations working alongside children and adults with disabilities who understand the needs of applicants from both a suitability and financial perspective.
Although priority will be given to applicants with limited resources, formal means testing will not be applied.
To apply, the Foundation requires:
- An application form completed by the beneficiary’s Health Professional
- Copies of two written estimates for equipment from suppliers
- Any other material you consider relevant to support your application i.e. assessment relevant to the equipment
