Suffolk Community Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of a new charitable fund with Beckett Investment Management Group Ltd.

The Beckett Health and Wellbeing Fund will award annual grants to charities and community groups in Suffolk.

Describing the motivation behind setting up a fund, Ian White, CEO said:

For many years we opted to choose a Charity of the Year that would benefit from our fundraising.  However, we wanted to build a long-term relationship with more than one charity, and this is easily accomplished using the Suffolk Community Foundation framework.  It enables us to be involved with lots of different causes that the team feels passionate about.

It’s a sad fact that a significant percentage of monies raised within the county do not go to local causes and Suffolk Community Foundation is leading the way in ensuring that money raised locally is invested locally.

Health and wellbeing is a very broad category and this is quite deliberate because it enables the fund to act decisively where a need arises.

The Beckett Health and Wellbeing Fund is set up for everyone at our company to raise money for and they can have a direct influence on where it is spent. The team is passionate about helping others and there will be no shortage of fundraising initiatives throughout 2024.”

It’s anticipated that the fund will distribute between £10,000 and £20,000 per year. Local charities and community groups will be able to apply when grants go live, in approximately 9-12 months.

Henry Tapp, Private Client Relationship Manager at Suffolk Community Foundation commented:

“We are thrilled to welcome Becketts as a fundholder. The grants from this fund will make an important and lasting impact to local people and the community groups that support them. Becketts are a great example of a purpose-led company wanting to make a difference and we look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
