The amazing team at Lucid Systems have just taken on an incredible challenge; climbing Mount Snowdon to fundraise for Suffolk Community Foundation.

The trip began with a group journey to Snowdonia National Park. The team stayed in Porthmadog the night before, allowing enough time to get a good night’s sleep before the climb.

The day of the climb started at 5am with a team talk over breakfast which covered supplies, contingency plans and the route ahead.

They chose to take the Ranger Path, which was an accessible but steady route to the summit. The morning began clear, but a few hours in, the view changed dramatically as dense fog rolled in. They reached the top and spent a short, fog-wrapped moment together before heading back down.

The full round trip took just under six hours, and afterwards they celebrated with a well-deserved pub lunch.  The team raised £1,400 – a fantastic amount.

Jess Corley, service manager, said: “Climbing Snowdon was physically demanding and emotionally rewarding. We were in a situation where we had to focus on practical problem solving, patience and encouragement. The experience was definitely something we’re proud of and strengthened our bond as a team. We’re definitely keen to continue working with local charity initiatives, and we’re already on the hunt for the next challenge!”

Lucid Systems is a member of Suffolk 100, a giving circle where members donate to help with Suffolk Community Foundation’s core activities as well as supporting charities and voluntary organisations across the county.

Craig Debenham, managing director of Lucid Systems, said: “We’re very proud of being a local Ipswich business, and we’ve always been committed to making the town a better place in any way possible. Signing up for the Suffolk 100 club has been our way to show our support for the community and give back to causes that benefit the people and places we serve.”

Hannah Bloom, chief executive of Suffolk Community Foundation said: “Thank you to the team at Lucid Systems for taking on Mount Snowdon to raise funds for Suffolk-based communities and to help with the work of Suffolk Community Foundation.  We’re very grateful for all their support and commend the team for taking on what sounded like an excellent challenge.
