Recently, pupils from @ipswich_school visited @4youngpeople, one of the charities they have chosen to support this year. CEO, Becky Warnock provided valuable insight into the organisation’s work, supporting approximately 800 young people annually through their youth programmes and counselling services.

During the visit, students toured the charity’s new waterfront premises, made possible by funding from the Town Deal Regeneration Fund. Lucy also introduced them to the Foundation and explained how it helps to support voluntary organisations across the county. The pupils will share their experience with the rest of the school during an upcoming assembly and begin developing creative fundraising initiatives to support 4YP.

James and Sarah from the Sizewell C Community Fund team are holding a drop in session at the library in Leiston on Tuesday 14 October, 9.30am - 1.30pm. If you're part of a voluntary organisation based in the area, then this is a great opportunity to find out more about the fund and how to apply. No booking necessary.

The Sizewell C Community Fund will provide up to £23m to local charities, community groups and organisations which are delivering projects that benefit communities located closest to, and most impacted by, @sizewellc development activity sites in East Suffolk.

This month, Georgie and James welcomed around 50 guests to their home for an event to share the positive impact the giving circle, @standupforsuffolk, has already achieved by supporting charities in the county.

The evening brought together members of the giving circle and representatives from charities @compassionsuffolk2001, @homestartsuffolk and @suffolkfamilycarers, who shared powerful stories about their work and the pressing needs they witness firsthand.

Committee member Robin Hamilton spoke passionately about the value of collaborative giving and the collective strength of the circle. Over the past two years, members have donated more than £42,000, positively impacting the lives of over 5,000 individuals in Suffolk. We thank them for their incredible support.💜

Stand Up For Suffolk will be holding their annual Christmas Fayre at Hadleigh Guildhall on Friday 21st November, 4pm to 8pm and Saturday 22nd November, 10am to 4pm.

On Wednesday, Jess and James attended the @citizens.advice.east.suffolk AGM.

CAES is a local, independent charity dedicated to helping people find a way forward. Since launching in 2022, following a merger of several long-standing Citizen Advice offices, they have supported residents across East Suffolk with free, confidential advice.

In the past year alone, CAES has helped 9,127 clients, addressed 40,608 issues, and delivered an incredible £3.3 million of financial value to the community.

It was a pleasure to attend and hear about the fantastic work they are doing. Thank you to Citizens Advice East Suffolk for inviting us!

Katie, from our Philanthropy Team and Leonie from Beckett Asset Management, recently attended the @familiestogethersuffolk AGM. Leonie was representing the Becketts Health and Wellbeing Fund which has previously supported one of Families Together perinatal support groups.

It was wonderful to hear about the difference Families Together is making to local families and communities; from 1:1 support to group work. It was also fantastic to see how well supported it is by a strong group of volunteers not least in its charity shops in Eye, and another soon to open to Halesworth.

The Suffolk Medal is the highest honour that the county can give to an individual. We would like to encourage residents of Suffolk to nominate anyone they feel has carried out incredible work for the benefit of the county.

This year, we are keen to receive a diverse range of nominations, especially for the women who have a profound and positive impact on our county.

“Too often, the people who make the biggest difference are the least likely to seek recognition. That’s why your nomination is so important – it’s a chance to say thank you, to shine a light on quiet heroes and to inspire others to follow in their footsteps." Hannah Bloom, Suffolk Community Foundation
