Suffolk Community Foundation announced as one of the most influential groups in Suffolk
The East Anglian Daily Times’ Suffolk 100 is a collection of one hundred individuals/groups who have made a difference and are influential in the commercial, community or cultural life of the county. It is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the people who are significantly contributing to the energy, vibrance and success of Suffolk. After a process of public and private nominations followed by a judging process, we are delighted to have made the top 100.
Suffolk Community Foundation was created in 2005 – driven by the passion of Stephen Singleton MBE Chief Executive and leadership team Mandy Abdel-Aziz Head of Operations, Andrea Pittock Head of Grant Programmes and Tim Holder Head of Public Affairs.
From the Suffolk 100 report…
Suffolk Community Foundation have so far raised £58.5M and distributed 8,682 grants to local charities and community groups addressing need across every corner of our county. Their Hidden Need’s Report (now in its third edition produced in partnership with University of Suffolk) has created a clear focus on key issues and the precise geographical areas requiring most support. The Foundation also continues to harness the power of key stakeholders – private donors, businesses, the public sector, national trusts and foundations and leaders from the local voluntary sector – working together with them to create sustainable solutions and raise the essential funds locally and nationally to make a lasting difference within grassroots communities in Suffolk. It is increasingly clear that this way of working avoids duplication of funding and effort as well as allowing the opportunity for everyone to play to their own unique strengths for greater impact.
Throughout the pandemic, the team worked hard to deliver the pre-pandemic service as normal, in tandem with an emergency response which raised and delivered £3.37M and awarded 525 dedicated emergency grants. Income last year reached a new high, a truly spectacular achievement considering all the challenges that have had to be overcome. In recognising the unique contribution of this leadership team to our county, Suffolk Community Foundation also acknowledges the contribution of their teams, volunteer Board of Trustees and Patrons for the ongoing support and, of course, the generosity of donors and public sector funders who’s continued partnership has never been more needed than it is now. Together with Suffolk, the Foundation and its leadership continue to work harder than ever to increase the support which is so desperately needed during these difficult times.
